A portrait is one of the few gifts that works on someone like this. It isn't something he would ever buy for himself, and it isn't something that gets used up and forgotten. It's his face, drawn by hand, hanging on a wall — an acknowledgement that someone noticed the years he put in.

It works for a birthday, a promotion, the birth of his child, or no occasion at all.

Pencil or oil — which one for him?

This is the question we get asked most, so here is the honest answer.

Pencil sketch is quieter and more intimate. Black and white removes everything except structure and expression, which is why it suits a face with character — lines, a beard, an older man's features. It's also the better choice when you're working from an old or faded photograph, because there's no colour information to lose. On a wall it reads as classic and understated.

Oil painting has more physical presence. Colour, canvas texture, and the way light sits on the paint make it feel larger even at the same size. If you want something that clearly reads as the centrepiece of a room — a living room wall, an office — oil does that better.

Neither is more premium than the other; they're premium in different ways. A pencil portrait feels like something personal. An oil portrait feels like something formal. Most people who are gifting to a father or grandfather choose pencil. Most people commissioning for an office or a formal room choose oil.

We take 30% advance to begin work, and the remaining amount once you've approved the final result — payable before shipping, or via COD if you prefer.

Yes, we can include multiple faces, pets, or both in a single portrait. If you have two separate photos you'd like combined into one, we can merge them for you too.

Yes, we do. International orders typically take 3–4 days for the sketch and up to 14 days for shipping — so around 18–20 days in total at most. In most cases, it arrives sooner than that.

We ship rolled and securely packed, through trusted courier partners like Delhivery, DTDC, or Blue Dart — whichever offers the best service in your area. Framing is available, but we usually recommend skipping it: adding a frame increases shipping costs, which gets passed on to you. It works out cheaper — and gives you more design choice — to get it framed locally after delivery.

Not at all — send us whatever photo you have. Our artists have spent years mastering their craft and can turn everyday photos into a beautiful, detailed sketch.

This is rare, since you see and approve progress photos at every stage before the final piece. If you're still not happy with the final result, we'll recreate it for you. We take only 30% advance upfront and the rest after completion, so there's minimal risk to you. In the unlikely case you'd like a refund instead, we're happy to return your 30% deposit — though since the artist has already put in their time and skill, a small portion goes toward their work. Rest assured, we only work with artists who specialise and excel in their craft.

Usually 8–10 days in total — 2–3 days for our artist to complete the sketch, and 4–5 days for shipping. We don't offer a rush/express option currently, but if you're near one of our artists' locations, delivery can sometimes be faster. If your order is urgent, message us before placing it and we'll let you know what's possible.

Once work begins, we send you daily progress photos so you can see the portrait taking shape. If anything looks off at any stage, just tell us and we'll fix it right away. We only dispatch for delivery after you approve the final result — until then, we keep revising until you're completely satisfied.
